
Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar on Sunday paid an inspection tour to squares and main roads of the capital, Cairo.
The tour aimed to make sure that the traffic plan, developed to deal with the traffic situation and prevent congestion during the holy month of Ramadan, is being implemented strictly.
The tour included downtown Cairo, Tahrir Square, Al Hussein, Ramses Square, Manshiyat Naser, and Nasr City.
He ordered officials of the traffic sector to be on scenes with their subordinates to quickly deal with any security situations and take necessary measures to deal with any traffic jams over the day, especially at rush hours.
The minister also toured Al Hussein district and reviewed measures taken to secure tourist areas and provide safe environment for tourists during their stay in the country
