Under the leadership of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah, the emirate "has thrived as a knowledge hub for the Arab world," the Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Noura Al Kaabi, has said.

In a series of tweets on her Twitter account after a visit yesterday with H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan to the Sharjah International Book Fair, SIBF, she commented that the Fair "is the 3rd largest book fair worldwide, solidifying Sharjah’s place as an Arab city of culture and knowledge."

"As UNESCO’s Global Book Capital of 2019, Sharjah continues its commitment to education, culture, language and heritage," the Minister said.

The fair opened yesterday and runs until 11th November.
