Jeddah - Arab Today

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has joined hands with Albir Society in Al-Ghala, Al-Laith Province, with the aim of supporting the society’s activities.
They have also planned, as part of a cooperation deal, to establish a women’s tailoring workshop to hone the skills of youths so they can boost their income and living standards in line with the company’s social responsibility program.
Those who signed the deal were Humoud bin Awdah Al-Ghubaini, senior vice president for corporate communications & PR, and Khalid Al-Adhli, chairman of board of directors of Albir Society in Al-Ghala.
Al-Ghubaini said the company aims to support the needy in the community and raise awareness about the importance of charity work in all regions of the Kingdom.
He said the agreement will contribute to developing the beneficiary families and create employment opportunities for young men and women, ages 25-40, after they train at the tailoring workshop.
Al-Adhli praised the SEC initiative and said the agreement will contribute to fulfil the society’s aspiration to provide such training which will benefit not only the youths but also their families in particular and the community in general.
The SEC sponsors and supports various conferences and scientific and cultural events with the aim of raising awareness on health and environment in all cities and provinces of the Kingdom.
Last year, the company provided financial and other kind of support to more than 200 charitable societies working to help low-income families, orphans, Down’s syndrome patients, the disabled and cancer patients.
The company also helped other societies working in the fields of social care. The aim was to equip them better so they can provide the integrated work to their beneficiaries.
