Manama - Arab Today

Housing Minister Basem bin Yacoub Al-Hamer held a meeting with Deyar Al-Muharraq Chairman Abdulhakim Al-Khayyat, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Maher Al-Shaer and other officials.

The two sides discussed progress of work on Deerat Al-Oyoun development project, being carried out in partnership with the private sector.

“The project is part of efforts to achieve the farsighted vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa”, the minister said, commending the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa.

He paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister for his follow-up to provide decent housing for citizens and meet pending demands.

Al-Hamer underscored the importance of Deerat Al-Oyoun development project, an integrated residential community being carried out by the private sector for the minister which, he said, reflects the success of the partnership between the two sides to promote social housing.

The Government Action Plan (GPA) stipulates the construction of 25,000 housing units under royal directives issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa to build 40,000 units.
