Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has stressed that no initiative to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict will jeopardize Egyptian lands in any way.
Shoukry's remarks came in reply to a question about statements by the Israeli prime minister, in which he had called for changing some articles of the Arab peace initiative.
His answer also refuted claims about a French initiative that entailed land swaps between Israel and the Palestinians and between Egypt and Israel.
The Arab peace initiative is still effective and can form the basis for peaceful relations after a Palestinian state has been established, Shoukry said in a press conference with his visiting Hungarian counterpart Wednesday.
Peter Szijjarto, the Hungarian Foreign Minister, said his country supports efforts to render the Middle East peace process successful.
Budapest supports all kinds of initiatives and agrees to a two-state solution to the conflict, Szijjarto noted.
