Asserting that Iranian nuclear program was only for peaceful purposes, Iran's Consul General in Hyderabad, Mahmoud Safari said that sanctions by the United States on Iran will not stop the national nuclear program. Safari told reporters that the right to nuclear energy is the undisputable right of the people of Iran and some of the big powers should not use political pressure to stop us from our lawful right as these sanctions against Iran are not going to make us give up our aim. He attended the press conference in Hyderabad on the occasion of 33rd anniversary of the victory of Islamic Revolution of Iran. The nuclear knowledge indigenously built by nuclear scientists in Iran is for peaceful purposes and that Iranian nuclear program is under full surveillance of the International Atomic Energy Agency, he said. Referring to the US and the European Union ramping up economic pressure on Iran, Safari said that both US and Israel have been making false allegations against Iran over the past three decades and warned that 'Iran is ready to take retaliatory measures against the enemies if it was attacked.' The relationship between India and Iran is expanding and the volume of trade between the two countries has crossed USD 15 billion while Andhra Pradesh has a share of about USD 500 million with Iran, he said. Safari also announced that the Aasman Airlines of Iran will very soon launch its direct flights from Hyderabad to Mashhad.
