Iranian Vice-President for International Affairs Ali Saeedlou, who is in Islamabad for an official visit, met with Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari, and discussed ways of improving the bilateral ties and cooperation between the two neighboring countries. During their meeting, Zardari welcomed the Iranian Vice President and expressed the hope that the visit would further strengthen bilateral relations and boost existing trade cooperation between the two countries. Saeedlou, for his part, thanked the Pakistani government for giving him a warm welcome and making his visit a success. He was confident that Iran-Pakistan relationship will continue to grow. A delegation consisting of economic personalities and private sector activists are accompanying Saeedlou. During his visit, Saeedlou will make arrangements for Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's next trip to Pakistan. Ahmadinejad is due to visit Islamabad in near future to participate in the second trilateral summit of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, the last round of which was held in Tehran, in June 2011. Iran and Pakistan have always had very close and intimate relations throughout the history. The two countries exchange delegations on a regular basis and their leaders are resolved to further accelerate expansion of ties and cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
