GCC Secretary General receives UN Special Envoy for Yemen

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdellatif bin Rashid Al Zayani received at the Secretariat General headquarters in Riyadh the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.
They discussed the efforts made to resume political negotiations between the Yemeni sides which are set to be held in Geneva on September 6.
The GCC Secretary General underlined the GCC support to all efforts made by the UN Special Envoy in this regard, expressing hope the new round of negotiations would succeed in reaching a political solution in Yemen according to the GCC initiative, the outcome of the comprehensive national dialogue and the UN Security Council’s resolution 2216.
