GCC Chief meets UN Envoy to Yemen

GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, met today UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, along with the delegation accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the UN efforts to revive the political negotiations towards reaching a political solution that restores security and stability.
The two sides focused on efforts to deliver humanitarian aids to alleviate the suffering of the people of Yemen under current hard circumstances.
Dr. Al Zayani received the GCC States’ support to the UN Envoy’s efforts in, adding that any political solution of conflict in Yemen should be based on the GCC Initiative and the executive mechanism thereof, outcome of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and UNSC resolution 2216. Dr. Aluwaisheg, the GCC Assistant Secretary General for Political and Negotiations Affairs, also attended the meeting
