Qatar university to hold national day festival

Qatar University (QU) has planned a slew of activities to celebrate Qatar's National Day 'with a passionate sense of patriotism' here on Sunday. Among the many events the university will organise at the QU Stadium are live shows, exhibition of locally made products, horse-riding and shooting from 2pm to 9pm. "Faculty, students and employees of the university are looking forward to expressing their gratitude, national pride and allegiance to the wise leadership of our beloved nation of Qatar," the university said ahead of the National Day festivities. The programme is as follows:- 2pm Opening of the festival; 3.30pm Horse and Classical Car Show' 4.30pm Holy Qu'ran Recitation, Traditional Sports, Al Murada; 5.30pm Poetry Session; 6.30pm 'In Love With Qatar' performance; 7pm Qatari Ardah. 9pm Festival Closing. The university has extended invitation to all.
