His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa deputised Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, to attend the graduation ceremony of the 23rd batch of the graduates and post graduates from the University of Bahrain (UoB).

Held under HRH Premier’s patronage, the ceremony was attended by ministers, officials and UoB’s administrative and academic staff.

The deputy premier conveyed congratulations from HRH the Prime Minister to the graduates and doctorate and master’s degree holders for the tremendous efforts they had exerted to obtain the highest degrees to serve their nation and enhance its status, as well as his wishes of further success to them in their academic and professional careers.

HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa stressed that the government, under the leadership of HRH Premier, is keen to develop education in the kingdom, and to create a perfect educational environment based on creativity and innovation, and aimed at instilling the values and principles of giving, dedication and production in order to prepare generations that are capable of contributing to the progress march witnessed by the kingdom in all fields.

"Education is the cornerstone of every effort made by the Government of Bahrain to formulate and achieve its ambitious development goals, out of its belief that investment in the human capital and the development of the Bahraini individual through equipping them with science and knowledge are the basis for building the nation, enhancing its development and achieving progress and prosperity for the nation and its people,” the deputy premier said.

HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa praised UoB’s leading role in building students’ capacities, advancing scientific research and embracing competencies, commending the efforts of UoB’s President, Dr. Riyad Yussef Hamza, and all affiliates and staff to develop the university’s programmes in order to cope with the requirements of the labour market and benefit society.

Successive generations of distinguished Bahraini cadres and competencies have graduated from the UoB since its establishment, and have contributed constructively to various national action sectors, he said.

The deputy premier extended sincere congratulations to the graduates and their families, wishing them further success.

Education Minister and UoB’s Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, extended deepest thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for his patronage of the graduation ceremony, which he described as a source of pride for everyone, citing the premier’s assertion that education is the best means to develop societies, and that investment in the educational sector and its development are among Bahrain’s priorities towards progress and modernisation.

The minister highlighted the outstanding achievements attained by the kingdom in the educational field thanks to constant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

Dr. Al-Nuaimi also extended sincere appreciation and gratitude to HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the deputy patron of the ceremony.

UoB president, Dr. Riyad Hamza extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for patronising the graduation ceremony.

He asserted that the Premier’s patronage is a source of pride for the graduates, and will motivate them to contribute effectively to Bahrain’s progress, under the leadership of HM the King, and the support of HRH the Crown Prince.

UoB president extended thanks to Deputy Premier HH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa for attending the ceremony, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Deputy Premier and President of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training, for his constant support, and Education Minister for his unwavering support for UoB.
