Waked pleased with The Second Wife role

Egyptian actor Amr Waked has spoken of his delight at working with the Egyptian director Khairy Beshara in television drama, Al Zogah El Thanya – The Second Wife. Waked told Arabstoday: "I agreed to take part in The Second Wife after I read the script - and the thought of living up to the character once played by the legendary Shukri Sarhan in the original movie didn't cross my mind. "Aside from accepting the project because of Khairy Beshara's involvement, I was impressed because the storyline is based on the world we live in and the reality of dictatorships, injustice, poverty, and trading with religion," he explained. The Second Wife, which will be broadcast during Ramadan, is a remake of the classic Egyptian movie which starred Shukri Sarhan, Soad Hosni, Salah Mansour and Sanaa Jamil.
