Beirut - Suleiman Asfhani

Iraqi singer Kazem El-Saher told Arabstoday that he owes his wide popularity to Lebanon. Kazem said he believes Beirut is his good-luck charm as it was the first city to open its doors to his music. El-Saher said he supports the freedom of people all over the world because, according to him, freedom has a special taste which can only be experienced by those who have suffered injustice. El-Saher said: "I will sing for freedom.  We (Iraqi's)  are a people who believe in peace, but we do not accept defeat, no matter how long tyranny remains. El-Saher denies that he has plans to perform a duet with a female singer. The singer said he adores his grandson from his eldest son Wesam, adding that the young boy "has an inherent love of music to the extent that when he cries, he won't calm down until he hears the sound of music."
