Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) board member and chairwoman of the Women’s Sport Committee Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa has visited Bahrain women’s volleyball team, who are preparing for the Fourth Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Women’s Sports Tournament.
The regional competition on February 2 - 12 in Sharjah, will bring together teams from around the Arab region to compete in a number of sports.
During her visit, Shaikha Hayat met Bahrain Volleyball Association president Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, chef de mission Maryam Mirza and other members of the delegation. She was briefed on the training programme and preparations of the team.
Shaikha Hayat urged the players to give their best in the tournament and live up to the aspirations of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the king for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and BOC president, who recently launched a new slogan ‘Only Gold’ that represents a new challenge for Bahrain athletes on the regional and international levels.
