Fire at Damascus University due to short circuit

Firefighters on Tuesday extinguished a fire that broke out in one of the housing units at the dormitory of the University of Damascus. Head of the Fire Brigade of Damascus Brig. Gen. Abdul-Hadi Daher told SANA reporter that the fire was caused by a short circuit on the first floor of the housing unit and spread up to the eighth floor, causing material damage without casualties. Director of the dormitory Ibrahim Jum'eh pointed out that the housing unit where the fire erupted had already been out of service due to maintenance and repair works.
