The 14th GCC Swimming Championship (25m), organized by Qatar Swimming Association, continued for the third day in Hamad Aquatic complex in Doha.
In the U-17 year-olds category, Qatari swimmers collected a total of 27 medals. The swimmers won a total of seventeen gold medals, five silver, and five bronze ones. In second place was the UAE, collecting a total of 22 medals, followed by Bahrain who collected 14 medals.
On Thursday, Qatari swimmers in the 17 year-olds category collected a total of 21 medals, nine gold, seven silver, and five bronze ones. In second place was the UAE, collecting a total of 19 medals and the third place was Oman with a total of nine medals.
In remarks to QNA, Head of the tournament technical committee Ali Al Jabir praised the performance of all the athletes who took part in the tournament.
He congratulated the Qatari team on winning the 17 year-olds category, pointing that Qatar is awaiting the U-17 title after leading the board today.
