Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held a bilateral meeting with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull on the sidelines of APEC Summit held, here, Saturday.

They among other things discussed about Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

During the bilateral meeting, President Jokowi was accompanied by Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukito, Vice Foreign Minister Abdurrahman Fachir, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartanto, Chief of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Thomas Lembong, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

Jokowi is in Vietnam to attend the 25th Summit of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) held on Nov 10-11, 2017.

On Friday, Jokowi was present in the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).

Focusing on the overarching theme of "Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future," the APEC Summit discusses the future of free trade, new drivers for economic growth, and the role of APEC in tackling common challenges in the region.

These are issues of high importance, given the current state of global trade and growth and the planned Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade agreement that seems increasingly unlikely to move forward as planned.

APEC 2017 is also expected to help accelerate the implementation of the Bogor Goals of free and open trade and investment by 2020.

The APEC Summit is participated in by leaders of the APEC members. They include US President Donald Trump, Chinese President China Xi Jinping, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, and Mexico President Enrique Pe?a Nieto.

The 21 APEC member entities are Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Taipei, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.

They constitute 39 percent of the world`s population, contribute 57 percent of the global GDP, and 49 percent of the global trade
