Mohamed bin Zayed receives President of UAE-EU Parliamentary

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received, at Al Bahr Palace, Antonio Lopez-Isturiz White, President of the UAE-EU Parliamentary Friendship Group at the European Parliament, and his delegation currently visiting the country while accompanied by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC.

The reception was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in Al Ain Region.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed the visit of the delegation to the UAE and wished it luck and success in extending the bridges of friendship and co-operation between the UAE and the European Union, EU, in various areas that concern both sides, to achieve their aspirations of developing and advancing their bilateral relations.

During the meeting, a discussion took place on the means of consolidating the joint work of the UAE and the European Parliament in the areas of the economy, politics, society and industry, as well as others, based on the principles and values of co-operation and the mutual interests and established ties of friendship between both sides.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the UAE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and develop its relations with various countries and communities from around the world while expressing his hope for the strengthening of the partnership between the UAE and EU countries in various sectors, as well as the continuing support of the UAE-EU Parliamentary Friendship Group regarding their mutual issues.

Lopez-Isturiz White expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE and working with partners in the country, to consolidate their co-operation and advance their relations to achieve greater development. He also highlighted the common values that bring together both sides, in terms of tolerance and their support for peace and development in the region and around the world.

He then noted the appreciation of European countries for the UAE’s leading humanitarian role, especially in the area of regional and international relief assistance.

Both sides presented and exchanged their opinions on several regional issues and updates.
