Egyptian lawyer Fareed Al Deeb
Cairo - Mina Samy

Egyptian lawyer Fareed Al Deeb said that former Interior Minister Habib Al Adly will appear during the session scheduled to be held by the Court of Cassation to consider the appeal submitted by the former official against the verdict to sentence him seven years in prison.
He added that Adly did not escape, saying that he has not executed the verdict. He stressed that the verdict issued against the Egyptian former official is considered null and void of legal value. He expressed his confidence that the Court of Cassation will decide to retry Adly and to allow him return to his house as soon as possible.
He added that a number of his clients disappear before their trial upon his request as long as there is no decision to imprison them pending investigation. He defended the security authorities against the campaign of criticism targeting them, saying that the security forces have not performed any role to hide the former official.
He stressed that the court has not ordered the security forces to supervise him when it decided to put him under house arrest. The Egyptian lawyer was keen to express his appreciation to Egypt’s former President Hosni Mubarak, saying that he turns currently to live in peace with his family away from the noisy after years of suffering.
He denied what was published over Mubarak’s intention to hand over the authority to his son Gamal, saying that Mubarak’s wife stressed that they were realizing the increasing troubles facing the person who take such responsibility and decided not to allow their sons work in politics during the coming period.
He added that Mubarak’s sons do not intend to work in politics, saying that their appearance in media was normal as Egyptian citizens. He stressed that Alaa was keen to visit the family of his driver who passed away during his presence in the prison, saying that the visit came for humanitarian reasons and is not related to any political dimension.
He described the protests witnessed in the country during January 2011 as an American plan, saying that they used the desire of Egyptian people to achieve change to implement their plan aiming to raise the chaos to pave the way dividing the country.
