His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said that the atmosphere of democracy and openness currently enjoyed by the kingdom should be adapted to maintain its leading role and competitiveness as a financial and investment hub.
He asserted that despite the continuous attempts to disrupt the kingdom's stability, the government is resolved to go ahead with its efforts to build and advance the nation, paying no attention to those seeking to impede the development march.
HRH Premier made the remarks as he received here today some MPs and Shura members, led by the Speaker of the Representatives Council Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani and the Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh.
HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that the government's support to service sectors, including the housing and education ones, would continue unabated.
In spite of the huge number of achievements in these sectors, the government is determined to optimise them for the sake of the citizens, he said.
HRH Premier urged more focus on economic development, stressing that preoccupation with politics only cannot create a stable society.
He called for the need to pay equal attention to both the economy and politics, explaining that "a strong political life requires a solid economy that support it."
On the latest regional and global developments, HRH Premier stressed the need to rally together in order to counter attempts to destabilise the Arab and Islamic Worlds, noting that unified stances are protective shields against those seeking to undermine the security of Arab countries.
