His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, former Parliament Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, MPs, Shura members and senior state officials.
HRH Premier affirmed that the government and parliament share the same goals of enhancing national work for the sake of serving the kingdom and ensuring the welfare of its citizens, in accordance with the vision outlined by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in his national development and modernisation project.
HRH Premier stressed that exploitation of patriotism would lead to no results amid the high national awareness and the global understanding of the reality of the situation in the kingdom, highlighting the Bahraini people's honourable stances against false allegations.
"As a Prime Minister, I affirm that the government welcomes wholeheartedly the parliamentary monitoring," he said, noting that the "representatives of the people" should play a major role in ensuring security and stability in the country.
"Ensuring the security of the citizens and the stability of the nation is the shared responsibility of the government and legislature, and everyone should assume their roles in this regard," he said.
HRH Premier asserted that the Bahraini citizens are the real assets of the nation, and stressed the government's keenness to ensure that both male and female citizens assume similar duties and enjoy equal rights, noting that Bahrain is known for allowing women to hold leadership positions.
HRH Premier urged more cooperation between the executive and legislative branches.
He warned of plots against the nation, and expressed confidence in the ability of the representatives of the Bahraini people to thwart them.
