A car bomb went off Monday at the entrance to a security checkpoint in al Youssefiya area in southern Baghdad.
Spokesman for the "Baghdad Operations" Command Saad Maan said a suicide bomber in a car targeted a search campaign, leaving scores of people, including security personnel, dead and injured.
Daesh has been blamed for numerous terrorist attacks that aim to destabilize Baghdad.
