The National Competitiveness Committee’s vision is to create a friendly environment for the growth of
Muscat - Arab today

Efforts made by the National Competitiveness Committee with relation to the international competitiveness index were reviewed during a meeting on Wednesday.

The National Competitiveness Committee’s vision is to create a friendly environment for the growth of national economy through improving business environment. 

This will enhance the Sultanate’s competitiveness at the local and international markets.

The Committee held its 2nd meeting of the year at the National Centre for Statistics and Information premises under the chair of Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Chairman of the Committee.

The meeting reviewed the previous decisions taken by the committee and the efforts made by the national committee. The Office is the local partner of the World Economic Forum at the competitiveness index surveys.

The Committee also supervises the efforts made to enhance the Sultanate’s competitiveness and sponsor dialogue between public and private sectors to improve competitiveness of different sectors.

The Committee will build national capacity in the field of enhancing competitiveness and analysing international reports.

It also assesses and follows up the evaluation of Sultanate’s competitiveness on the local, regional and international levels. It also proposes the laws and regulation to improve the Sultanate’s competitiveness and cooperate with all stakeholders to achieve its vision.
