Italian PM: EU's Barroso to visit Lampedusa on Wednesday

European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso on Wednesday will visit the Italian island of Lampedusa, where more than 300 African asylum-sekeers are feared to have died in a shipwreck tragedy last week. "We have asked the Euroepan Commission president Barroso to come and see for himself. I can tell you on Wednesday morning he will visit Lampedusa," Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta said on Sunday.
