Tamkeen Chief Executive Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Janahi said that preparations to celebrate the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) are well underway.

The GEW is a global annual celebration of innovators and job creators who have launched startups that bring ideas to life and at the same time drive economic growth and expand human welfare in Bahrain.

"One of Tamkeen’s key objectives is to nurture the entrepreneurship environment within the Kingdom of Bahrain by supporting individuals and developing their skills starting throughout different stages, from the time they are students encouraging them to enter the entrepreneurship field as an alternative career option," he said.

He said: "Tamkeen offers a wide range of support initiatives serving businesses and individuals with the aim of helping people to unleash their creative ideas into businesses and contribute to shaping the local and global entrepreneurship ecosystem."

"As the world is marking the 10th anniversary of this international event, our celebration of the GEW emphasizes the leading role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the different international events and initiatives aimed at boosting economic development and entrepreneurship," he said. He pointed out that more than 30 events will be taking place in celebration of this Week starting on November 11-20.

The events and activities will include workshops, lectures, forums as well as competitions among other events that will be featuring Bahrain’s celebration of GEW.

The GEW celebrations in Bahrain will also host local and international entrepreneurs and experts to speak about their experiences and share their knowledge and latest updates in this field.

Tamkeen will be celebrating the Global Entrepreneurship Week in partnership with more than 20 public and private organizations, and the event will attract more than 1500 participants representing entrepreneurs, small and medium size businesses as well as home business in the different economic sectors.
