Heavyweight countries' double standard policies, especially their bias to the Zionist entity, have made Arab youths feel they are suffering injustice and this is the main reason behind extremism and terror, said the Al Azhar undersecretary.

During a meeting Saturday with the EU coordinator for relations with the Mediterranean countries and an official from the Finnish church relief fund, Abbas Shuman said Arab youths believe that money was spent to destroy Arab countries without any justification like Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yemen.

Shuman said – addressing the two officials - "you should be sure that your support for preachers do no pour into the hands of extremists."

He expounded that the spread of hatred has secured a fertile land for enticing many youths under the slogans of Jihad to join terror groups.

Arab countries have worked on disseminating the upright teachings of Islam to confront this phenomenon, he said

He cited Al Azhar's warning of disqualified preachers in the west, adding that unfortunately the west turned a deaf ear to the warning and hundreds of European youths joined Daesh.

He underlined that Azhar cooperates with all parties to clarify the real image of Islam.

The EU official hailed the efforts exerted by Al Azhar, noting that she shares identical views with Shuman.
