His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputised today his Personal Representative Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa to honour the winners of the King's Cup Endurance Race Championship " for adults and juniors" for 120 kms race which is organised by Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) with the participation of an elite of riders from the royal team and local stables.
The race was organised under the follow-up of Personal representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and BREEF Honorary President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, SCYS First Deputy Chairman, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Khaldiya stables Captain Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Abdullah took pride in attending the race on behalf of HM the King, commending the efforts of BREEF in organising such competitions and supporting Bahraini riders. He praised the achievements of the Bahraini jockeys in the endurance and equestrian sport locally and internationally. He honoured, in the presence of Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid, the winners in "the adults" race. They were Fahad Hilal Al Khateri from Victorious royal team, Ghazi Al-Dousari from Al-Ruoud team who clinched second place and Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa from Al-Zaeem team who came third.
Shaikh Abdullah congratulated the winners, wishing them success in the next competitions.
Shaikh Nasser extended thanks to HM the King for patronising the race, stressing that the royal care is a great stimulus for Bahraini riders to do their utmost in the toughest competitions in the endurance season. He paid tribute to HM the King for his tremendous support for the endurance sport in Bahrain. He also thanked Shaikh Abdullah for honouring the winners in the championship.
On his part, Shaikh Khalid said that HM the King's patronage of the event was an incentive for all riders to do their best to clinch top places. He also lauded Shaikh Abdullah's keenness to attend the race and honour the winners.
BREEF President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa extended thanks and appreciation to HM the King for patronising the event, stressing that the royal care and support was behind the race's success at all levels. He also underlined keenness of BREEF and its committees to ensure good preparation for the championship, in line with the directives of Shaikh Nasser.
