Doha - Kuna

The opening ceremony of the 12th Arab Games featured eye-catching display about how the Arab person struggled, through his tradition and culture, to safeguard his dignity. The ceremony, held at Khalifa International Stadium in the Qatari Capital, Doha, was divided into four themes all in essence talking about the solidarity against aggression. The themes were about two Arab rival tribes that were fighting each other. However, they were both threatened by foreign enemies - resembling in a dinasaur - which made them unite to ultimately defeat it.Secretary General of the Qatari Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani hoped the Arab Games be full success.Addressing the opening ceremony, launched by the Qatar Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, he said they were looking forward that competitions would be fair and everybody would be a winner.Chairman of the Arab National Olympic Committees, Prince Nawaf bin Faisal Al-Saud vowed to continue hard work until the genuine sport merits were spread all over the Arab countries.Prince Nawaf thanked the Qatari leadership and people for the organization of the games.
