Cairo - Arabstoday

Hassan Shehata is to stay on as Zamalek coach after the persuasion of club chairman Mamdoh Abbas, Zamalek's official website said on Saturday. The official statement from the Whites' management said that Shehata, who dramatically resigned last week, will stay in his post after Zamalek agreed to meet his demands. "Shehata showed his respect to the Zamalek president and the board members during Saturday's meeting, and the tactician confirmed he will stay with the team," the statement said. "Shehata told the board that he had lodged his resignation to allow the management to take any decision against its players without shame," it added. "The management is confidence with Shehata's ability to lead Zamalek in its coming critical situation." Shehata, a former Egypt national team coach, early last week revealed that he had resigned in complaint after Zamalek management ignored his player trading list for next season and refused to sign new players. Zamalek's management later decided to release their striker, Ahmed Hossam "Mido",  from the first team squad during the summer transfer window in an apparent concession to retain Shehata's services.
