Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi offered his full support and attention to the equestrian sports and gave directives to the officials to preserve the six-lap racing events. The Ruler also announced new projects to develop equestrian clubs in the central region, Khor Fakkan and Kalba. In a telephone call made to the Sharjah Radio and Television on a Live programme broadcast this morning, the Ruler said several people own horses in Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Dheid, but they do not have any club to support them practice equestrian sports. He offered every support to preserve the sports, which is deep rooted in the culture and heritage of the land. The Ruler also gave directives to officials not to annul the six-lap racing events which were commonly organised in the emirate. He also gave directives to the club officials not to make any changes in the size of the racecourses.
