Al Sadd defeated Saturday Al Araby 2-1 in the 18th round of Qatar Stars League.
The win helped Al Sadd regain the top spot of the table with 43 points. Al Araby meanwhile remain 11th with 20 points. Al Sadd opened the scoring through their star player Khalfan Ibrahim, who scored from a counter attack in the 41st minute. The first half ended 1-0.
In the second half, Al Sadd pulled away when Hassan Al Haidous added his team's second in the 66th minute. From then on Al Araby tried to get back in the game and found a consolation through Ahmed Al Shahdad in the 88th minute.
