ABU DHABI - Arabstoday

Al Jazira came from behind to increase their lead of the UAE Pro-League (UFL) to 12 points than their nearest rivals after trouncing Al Dhafra 5-3 Monday in an exciting encounter. Meanwhile, Dubai club defeated Al Ahli 2-1 to escape from the relegation zone with goals from Hassan Abdul Rahman and Michel N'Dri and Ahmad Khalil for the losers. Al Dhafra, the bottom-placed team with 12 points, tooka comfortable 2-0 lead by the 46th minute of the match. Boris Kapi scored both the goals, the first in the 6th minute and the second a minute after the break. With this brace, he increased his goal tally to 10 this season. Attacking cards Abel Braga, Al Jazira's head coach, used all his attacking cards to avoid defeat at the hands of Al Dhafra. He brought in Ali Mabkhoot and Ahmad Juma to play alongside Ricardo Oliveira and Bare. The changes paid dividends with Bare finding the visitors' net first in the 55th minute. Eleven minutes later, defender Juma Abdullah netted the equaliser following a flag kick from Subait Khater. Al Jazira then snatched the lead through fullback Abdullah Mousa in the 70th minute, which however was short-lived as Al Dhafra made it 3-3 within five minutes with a superb goal by Tawfiq Abdul Razzaq. Two minutes later, Oliveira made it 4-3 and in the 83th minute, Mabkhoot made it 5-3 to give Al Jazira a thrilling victory. With this win, Al Jazira have 43 points.
