President of the Asian Football Federation (AFC) Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has extended sincere thanks and appreciation to the Asian football community for its great confidence and continuous support to him to continue leading AFC in order to achieve the aspirations of Asian footballers and develop Asian football further.
In a press statement following the closure of the nomination period for the elections of AFC Executive Bureau, he said the confidence of AFC members associations will motivate him to carry on developing AFC work, including enhancing unity and solidarity among members of the Asian football community and implementing plans and programmes to upgrade the game across the continent.
He said that developing Asian football was a collective responsibility that should be assumed by all, stressing that AFC would spare no effort to provide all kinds of support to all national associations.
It is to be noted that Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim secured today another term in office as AFC President uncontested.
