Men of culture should enlighten Arab peoples

Arab League (AL) Secretary General Nabil el-Araby on Tuesday asserted that the league should play a role to encourage men of Arab culture to undertake their responsibility for enlightening the Arab peoples.
In his speech at the first conference of the international union of poets, that was held in the AL headquarters, Araby added that the men of culture should uncover the reasons behind the fall of some segments of the society prey to the ideas of violence and darkness.
He underlined the importance of the role played by men of culture in expressing the aspirations and hopes of Arab peoples.
Attending the conference was Egyptian Minister of Culture Abdel Wahed Nabawy.
