Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al Tayyeb asserted on Thursday that Azhar supports Lebanese people's unity.
This came during Tayyeb's meeting with Lebanese Ambassador in Cairo Khaled Ziada to discuss fostering bilateral ties in cultural and educational fields.
Tayyeb also underlined the importance of resolving the current crisis in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Ziada hailed Al Azhar for its efforts to spread moderate Islam, tolerance and societal peace and confronting extremism.
