Al-Azhar with all its institutions, professors and preachers stand ready to confront the takfiri thought and protect society from intellectual invasion, said Al-Azhar Grand Imam Dr Ahmed el-Tayyeb.
In statements Tuesday following his meeting with a host of Azhar University professors and Awqaf Ministry preachers, Tayyeb warned of conspiracies hatched against the homeland.
He also underlined the need of facing the takfiri thought.
The meeting was attended by Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and Azhar's undersecretary Abbas Shouman.
