A heavy snow storm in eastern Japan is blamed for at least six deaths and widespread travel delays for millions in Tokyo and surrounding areas, officials said. Three people died in two separate car crashes on highways surrounding Tokyo that police later closed to traffic. Three people in the city of Gunma died when a roof collapsed under pressure from the snow. Tokyo has received 10 inches of snow, the fourth-largest accumulation in the post-World War II era, Kyodo News said. It's the second such storm in as many weeks to hit the area. In Shiroishi, residents endured a record-setting 22 inches of snow. Neighboring Fukushima got 21 inches, officials said. Thousands of travelers spent Friday night stranded in Tokyo's Haneda airport after mass flight cancellations.
