A cable car that travels up Barcelona's Montjuic mountain experienced a mechanical failure, leaving 70 people suspended in the air for about an hour. None of the passengers, mostly tourists, were injured, however Barcelona firedighters were called to the scene Wednesday to help some passengers out of the stalled cable car, TheLocal.es reported. Four passengers were brought down to ground level in a crane bucket. Eventually, authorities fitted a support engine on to the back of the cable car, making it possible for 13 cabins to continue on to the nearest stop and let out passengers, ThinkSpain reported. The cable car will be out of service for at least one day, ThinkSpain said.
