
At least five school children who were busy with playing volleyball were shot dead by unknown gunmen in eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan.Afghan Khaama online newspaper quoted local government officials as saying the incident took place on Thursday afternoon in Alingar district.Provincial governor spokesman, Sarhadi Zwak confirming the report, said the militants opened fire on a group of young men who were playing volleyball.Mr. Zwak further added that preliminary reports suggest at least five school children were killed following the incident.No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the attack. This comes as at least three people were killed and four others were injured following a rocket attack by militants on a football ground in Maiwan district of Kandahar province on Saturday.Local officials in Kandahar province said the boys were busy with playing football when militants attacked the football ground with rockets.
