Finland's light aircraft crash leaves 3 dead

A small passenger aircraft carrying parachuters crashed on Sunday in southwest Finland, leaving at least three dead, local media reported. The aircraft crashed near the Jamijarvi Airfield in the Satakunta region around 3:30 p.m. local time, said Finnish broadcaster YLE. A search operation has begun to determine the location of the missing, and rescue workers have arrived at the scene of the wreckage and put out the fire caused by the crash. According to the police, there were 12 people on the plane, including 11 passengers and one pilot. The passengers were all parachutists. The pilot and two or three parachutists escaped by jumping. So far, three people have been found survived. Jamijarvi Airport is one of the largest gliding centers in Finland. The airport is located a few km south of the center of Jamijarvi, a small town in southwest Finland.
