In the southeast German state of Bavaria, a bus carried 62 primary school students suddenly burst into flames, but no one was killed due to prompt intervention of the bus driver, local media reported on Tuesday. The 31-year-old driver stopped immediately and let the passengers get off the bus. Only seconds after the last student and three teachers had left the vehicle, the bus was burnt out completely, according to the reports. The police said, three children suffered a shock, as one child suspected of smoke inhalation was brought into a hospital. In the morning, the children took the bus ride on their first day of school in the new year to see a play in Landshut, a German southeast city. The investigators assumed that the fire was caused from a defect in the engine compartment.
