
Hundreds of British homes were flooded on Saturday assevere storms and high tides battered miles of coastline, leavinglarge areas under water, according to dpa.People were warned to stay away from seafronts as further severe weather was forecast for the weekend.The Met Office issued warnings of rain in the south of England, snow across northern England and southern parts of Scotland, as well asfurther flooding and travel disruption across the country.Searches resumed in south Devon for a missing 18-year-old who had setout to take photographs of the waves, with more than 100 peoplevolunteering to take part in the search.Around 100 people in the Welsh town of Aberystwyth were advised to leave their homes on Friday in search of higher ground.Two people died earlier this week as a result of the storms. A27-year-old from Surrey was found on a Cornwall beach after beingswept out to sea, and a woman died after being rescued from the seain north Devon.
