A piece of steel fell on a 9-year-old boy in Hamilton, Ontario, crushing his head, officials said. The incident happened at about 1:45 p.m Sunday as the boy and his father walked though a complex of factories and warehouses, Hamilton EMS platoon Chief Jim Summers told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. Summers said the boy was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. "I've never seen police ... rush out of their cars as fast as they were doing, so I knew right away that there was something going on," said nearby resident Paul Penn. The provincial Ministry of Labor is investigating the boy's death, Summers said.
