
At least nine decomposed bodies were found inIndia's north-eastern state of Nagaland in what appeared to be massacre, police said Saturday, according to dpa.The bodies, lying in a pile with their hands tied behind their backs, were recovered late Friday in the Dimapur district.The victims were blindfolded and shot in the head at close range, district police chief VZ Angami said.Police could not confirm if the killings were linked with militant violence or stemmed from factional fighting among insurgents, Angamisaid.India's north-east is home to many ethnic groups. It has been plagueby rebellions over the past half-century.Angami said it appeared the victims were killed in another location about two weeks ago. Autopsies were due to be performed soon on the bodies, which had yet to be identified, police said.
