Indianapolis fire officials said crews went to the wrong address before responding to a house fire Saturday that killed four members of a family. Lionel "Leo" Guerra, 47; Brandy Mae Guerra, 33; Esteban Guerra, 11; and Blanquita Guerra, 8, were killed in the fire. A 14-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, whose names were not reported, were hospitalized in critical condition, the Indianapolis Fire Department said. The first call about the fire, at 9:06 EST, came from a motorist who saw the flames from Interstate 70, but dispatchers had been given an incorrect address. Dispatchers determined the correct address when a neighbor called 911, and crews were dispatched at 9:11, the Indianapolis Star reported. Indianapolis Fire Department Capt. Rita Reith said crews arrived with 4 minutes of that call and had the fire under control within another 5 minutes but were not able to save the family members who were trapped in the house. "It is unknown how long the fire had been burning or the exact location and/or activities of the family inside," the fire department said in a news release. The cause of the fire had not been determined by Saturday evening but investigators said they did not suspect foul play. The home had no working smoke detectors.
