Thirty-two people were injured when a double-deck bus crashed into a tree on Friday in Kinnington, south London, according to local emergency authorities. The incident happened at about 10:50 a.m. on the Kennington Road, near the Imperial War Museum in south London. The London Ambulance Service said its medical staff had treated 32 patients in total, of whom 25 sustained cuts and bruises in the accident. Five suffered more serious injuries, such as head and leg injuries. Two other patients, a man and a woman, who were trapped on the upper deck in the bus for around two hours, suffered serious leg injuries. The injured passengers have all been taken to three local hospitals. Police said cause for the accident has yet to be ascertained and they are viewing closed-circuit television footages from inside the bus. They denied the initial witness reports suggesting the bus swerved to avoid a car.
