At least two persons were killed and five others wounded in a suicide car bomb in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar on Tuesday, an official said.
"The blast took place in the afternoon after the bomber detonated his explosive-packed vehicle near the house of a pro-government leader in Nazyan district. The explosion caused a member of local uprising group dead along the bomber and injured five others," the official told Xinhua anonymously.
Several warning shots were also fired by the local fighters of the uprising group, known as Khayzash-e-Mardomi.
Security forces and local militia have cordoned off the area for precautionary measures.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital in the province, some 120 km east of Afghan capital of Kabul.
Further details about the attack are still forthcoming amid the absence of official statement.
No group has claimed responsibility yet for the attack, but the Taliban insurgent group routinely claims responsibility for such attacks.
