
At least one person was killed in a fire that broke out in the outskirts of Myanmar's Yangon Monday morning, local media reported. The fire which occurred at the junction of the Thumingalar and Yadanar Street in South Okkalarpa township was put out by a total of 30 fire engines at noon, said the Popular News. The fire has been brought under control and investigation is underway into the cause of the fire, the report said. Last Monday, another fire which raged the Venus Garden Spa at the Gandamar wholesale market in Yangon's Mayangone township killed seven people. The tragedy was due to electric short-circuit triggered by overheat of an iron being plugged inside the Spa.
