Yemeni president orders raising army combat readiness

Yemen's President Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi on Thursday ordered raising the combat readiness for the army and the security bodies following threats by the Houthis to storm the capital Sanaa and overthrow the government.
Presiding over a joint emergency meeting for the Supreme Security Committee and the National Defense Council, Hadi said that the state would not "stand idly" regarding that dangerous threat to "Yemen as a whole and not only Sanaa." The president noted how Yemen had successfully and peacefully gone out of the "Arab Spring," which was lauded on the national, regional and international levels.
He said that the comprehensive national dialogue in Yemen included all political, social and cultural components in the country, even the Houthis.
The Southern problem and the Saada issue have been well-handled, coinciding with discussions of the national dialogue conference, that came in line with the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, Hadi told the meeting.
The initiative and the executive mechanism provides in the first article for realizing Yemen's security, stability and unity, to spare the country the woes of civil war and division.
The president stressed that the Houthis have no right to be a custodian of the Yemeni people under whatever pretexts.
