Tareq Qabil
Cairo - Arab Today

Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil received an invitation from Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development Mateusz Morawiecki to visit Warsaw on top of an Egyptian business delegation to promote trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The invitation was handed over to Qabil during his talks earlier in the day with Polish Ambassador in Cairo Michał Murkociński.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Qabil welcomed the invitation of the Polish side, asserting that the Ministry will prepare for the visit to lure a large number of Polish businessmen to the Egyptian market.

He underlined the importance of enhancing partnership between the private sectors in the two countries.

The minister also affirmed the necessity of increasing trade exchange volume, noting that trade exchange hit dlrs 223.4 million during the period from January till October 2015 compared with dlrs 140.9 million in the year before.

The polish ambassador, for his part, voiced his country's keenness on bolstering bilateral relations, terming Egypt as "a pivotal country" in the region and one of the important economic partners for his country. He said Egypt is one of the important tourism destination for the Polish people.

He also made it clear that Polish companies are really interested in establishing investments in Egypt, especially in the fields of energy, petrochemicals, agriculture, building and construction and silos.

Murkociński also said preparations are underway for a business delegation from the Polish companies operating in the agricultural field. They are expected to meet with a number of governmental research institutes in Egypt at the end of March with the aim of getting briefed on available investment opportunities in Egypt.
